Subtitled Tuesday: 'Doubles'
On October 17, our regular screening program 'Subtitled Tuesday' (with English subtitles included) will present the hilarious Czech comedy 'Doubles' ('Dvojníci', 2016) directed by Jiří Chlumský and starring Ondřej Sokol and Petr Nárožný. Screening starts at 8:30 p. m.
This big movie hit coming from the Czech Republic, is a hilarious crime comedy with the classical elements of mistaken identity. It tells the story of two men who are physically almost identical but their attitudes and lifestyles couldn't be more different. The fates of charming trickster Honza and high school teacher Richard become entwined at the worst possible moment, just as ruthless mobster Vytloukal is trying to collect a major debt from Honza. Honza jumps into the shoes of the polite and respectable Richard, while Richard finds himself chased by the mob and has to put his good manners aside in order to protect his family.
The film will be screening as part of the 24th Czech Film Week, dedicated to contemporary Czech cinematography.
