Subtitled Tuesdays: 'You Carry Me' and 'Force Majeure'
On August 4 our regular screening program 'Subtitled Tuesdays' (with both English and Croatian subtitles included) will present Croatian film 'You Carry Me' at 6:30 pm and 'Force Majeure' by Ruben Öslund at 9:15 pm.
'You Carry Me' (orig. Croatian title: 'Ti mene nosiš'), Ivona Juka's feature debut, offers a colorful portrait of four strong personalities whose desire for satisfaction bumps up against seemingly insurmountable day-to-day problems. Juka's previous works include feature-length documentary film 'Facing the Day' ('Što sa sobom preko dana'), the most awarded Croatian documentary film, and award-winning short films 'Garbage' and 'Editing', which were selected in official competition programs of numerous festivals in the USA.
Swedish film 'Force Majeure' (Croatian title: 'Turist'), awarded with the jury award at Cannes Film Festival, tells the story of a model Swedish family - handsome businessman Th+omas, his willowy wife Ebba and their two blond children - on a skiing holiday in the French Alps. One harmless avalanche will do no bodily harm, but it will leave this family antirely wrecked.

'Subtitled Tuesdays' program takes place in Cinema Europa's big hall on every Tuesday, except when there are being hosted various film festivals, promotions or other events which are not part of Cinema Europa's regular annual film program. Screenings included in this program are always marked in our screening schedule with a caption Subtitled Tuesday (HR & ENG subtitles).
