Subtitled Tuesdays presents new films!
On June 30 our regular screening program 'Subtitled Tuesdays' (with both English and Croatian subtitles included) will present two films: 'The New Girlfriend' by François Ozon at 7 pm and 'A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence' by Roy Andersson at 9 pm.
French film 'The New Girlfriend' (orig. title: 'Une Nouvelle Amie'; Croatian title: 'Nova prijateljica') is a humorous psychological drama based on a short story of the same name by Ruth Rendell, a British master of detective fiction. The main narrative line was transformed into a "delectably entertaining" (Variety) film about loss, identity and desire.
Winner of the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival, 'A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence' (Croatian title: 'Golub sjedi na grani i promišlja egzistenciju') is a masterful reflection on a human condition. Written and directed by Swedish ingenius filmmaker Roy Andersson, the film features his trademark absurdist humour and singular vision.
