Subtitled Tuesday: 'Houston, We Have a Problem!'
On May 31st our regular screening program 'Subtitled Tuesday' (with English subtitles included) will present a docu-fiction film 'Houston, We Have a Problem!' (Croatian title: 'Houston, imamo problem!'), directed by Slovenian director Žiga Virc, at 8:30 pm.
Blurring the lines between fact and fiction, 'Houston, We Have a Problem!' explores the myth behind the origins of America's race to be the first country to send a man to the moon, and a supposed multi-bilion-dollar deal involving America's purchase of Yugoslavia's space program in the early 1960s. This fascinating meta-examinaton of Cold War foreign diplomacy and myth-building had its world premiere in the Viewpoints program of the 15th Tribeca Film Festival in April.
Note: 'Subtitled Tuesdays' program takes place in Cinema Europa's big hall on every Tuesday, except when there are being hosted various film festivals, promotions or other events which are not part of Cinema Europa's regular annual film program. Screenings included in this program are always marked in our screening schedulge with a caption Subtitled Tuesday (HR & ENG subtitles).
