90 Years of Cinema Europa!
On Wednesday, 8 April, Cinema Europa is celebrating a big anniversary: 90 years of its opening! On 8 April 1925 the cinema in Varšavska 3 opened its doors; in the next 90 years it will build and maintain the role of a cult venue dedicated to select examples of world and European independent cinema. This important birthday will be appropriately celebrated - with films! Our birthday Wednesday begins in the early afternoon with a series of free screenings at both theatres.
At 6pm, the large auditorium screens a short documentary film 90 Years of Cinema Europa, while the cult Italian film 'Cinema Paradiso' (1988) by Giuseppe Tornatore is scheduled for 8pm. The Müller hall shows a selection of six recent films that appeared on our regular listings this and last season.
