Subtitled T-days: 'It's Only the End of the World'
On Tuesday (1 August) our summer screening program 'Subtitled T-days' (with English subtitles included) will present the moving family drama 'It's Only the End of the World', directed by Canadian enfant terrible Xavier Dolan and starring Gaspard Ulliel, Nathalie Baye, Marion Cotillard, Léa Seydoux and Vincent Cassel. Screening starts at 9 pm.
Famous young writer Louis is diagnosed with a terminal illness, so he returns home after a long absence to tell his family that he is dying. However, he finds his family members in utter chaos, each struggling with his own demons. While he ruminates around his childhood room and cherished memories, it is difficult to break free from the enchanted circle of broken family relations nad painful attempts at communication, let alone to find an ocassion to say the last goodby…
This Canadian-French production earned Xavier Dolan the Grand Prix at last year’s Cannes Film Festival. It also won six Canadian Screen Awards, including Best Motion Picture, and three César Awards, including Best Director.
During the summer, every Tuesday and Thursday from 29 June until 2 September, screenings at Cinema Europa's Grand Hall will have English subtitles alongside the Croatian ones.
